There is still time to register for Sunday's workshop.

September 23. Urban Foraging Walk in Ravenswood with Nance Klehm.

Nance Klehm has been foraging urban areas and particularly Chicago for medicines, foods and seeds for several years. She's taken a special interest in encouraging and supporting the Beyond Today community's efforts. Last week, we had a wonderful workshop with Sandor Katz (here's the link to photos and video) and now, Nance, herself, will join us for a special food workshop of urban foraging. Nance is a really amazing, smart, funny, and wonderful person and we are very lucky to have this opportunity. Sunday 2-4 we'll learn about what plants are edible that we forgot about. Nance believes that urban foraging is a wonderful way to connect directly to all urban land whether managed forest, coddled backyards, heavily trafficked public parks, lonesome transportation ways and so-called vacant lots. From flowers to purlane, we have lost the knowledge and it's time to reclaim it. Join us Sunday! We'll have great fun!

Come curious and with a few paper bags learn about what plants are sharing this city with you!

Urban forage walks usually last 2 hours and donations typically range from $10-$20

2-4 pm* Meeting Place Waters School Garden (Sunnyside and Campbell near Lincoln Square)
