Rember to tell your neighbors to dump standing water, wear repellent, and try to avoid the spray on Thursday.

Tell them what you know about the Anvil pesticide:

• It doesn't work:A new study by the Harvard School of Public Health, funded by the Center for Disease Control, shows that spray control of adult mosquitos is ineffective.
• It may cause an increase in cancer, Alzheimer's, Asthma, and Autism, all of which have been shown to increase with general pesticide exposure.
• It may actually increase the numbers and aggressiveness of mosquitos as they develop resistance and natural predators, along with the rest of the ecosystem, suffer ill effects.
• Like many pesticides before, Anvil has not undergone sufficient long-term testing and may, like DDT, result in many additional cancers, and other pesticide-related illnesses.
• Children are at special risk from pesticides. Their bodies are still developing and chemical, like Anvil, have been shown in labs to mimic estrogen's effects on cells. Children tend to touch things and put them in their mouths, so their exposure is much greater.
• Anvil pesticide is heavily marketed to encourage the public to see it as the only way to prevent West Nile and to blame those who don't want the spray for illness due to West Nile even when no repellent was worn and standing water allowed mosquitos to breed.
